Privacy Policy

The short version: Lumena is built to work entirely on your iPhone. Your recordings, transcripts and analysis stay on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, and nothing is uploaded to us or any third party.

Who we are

Lumena ("we", "us") is an iOS app for practising spoken delivery. This policy explains what the app does with your information. If you have any questions, you can reach us through our support page.

What the app accesses

Microphone. When you start a recording, the app captures audio so it can transcribe and analyse your speech. Recording only happens while you are in an active session.
Speech recognition. Audio is transcribed into text using Apple's on-device speech framework so the app can measure pace, filler words, pauses and related metrics.

Where your data lives

Everything Lumena creates — your audio recordings, transcripts, metrics and any AI-generated coaching — is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store or process your recordings, and your content is not transmitted to us.

On-device processing

Transcription and speech analysis run on your device using Apple's Speech framework. AI coaching features, where available, use Apple's on-device Foundation Models — the analysis is generated on your iPhone and is not sent to an external service by Lumena. Apple's own frameworks are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

No accounts, no tracking

Lumena does not require you to create an account. We do not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share personal information.

Your control over your data

Because your data is stored on your device, you are in control of it:

You can delete an individual session from within the app.
You can delete all Lumena data at once from the app's Settings.
Deleting the app removes its recordings and data from your device.

Children

Lumena is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how the app handles your information, we will update this page and revise the date above.
